Week7: Pre-production Meeting Blog

For podcast project, group members and I met each other on Monday 5:00p.m. to discuss and take the assigned task.

Here is list of each group member (including myself) and our roles and responsibilities:

Group member Name 1: Jialin Mei (me)

• The host of the podcast & speak in every segment including introduction

• Recognizes 3 images that can be utilized on microsite

• Segment1's content leader

Group member Name 2: Ruihan Wang

• The editor of the microsite

• Locates 3 images & audio on microsite

• Speaks in SEGMENT 1 & 2

Group member Name 3: Cuiwen Zhou

• The coordinator of group's script

• Arranges the order for group members' speaking parts

• Integrates questions that are raised by group members to form 3 segments of the podcast & Determines the theme

• Speaks in SEGMENT 1 & 2 & 3

• Segment2's content leader

Group member Name 4: Baiyu Wang

• The director of the podcast

• Reminds group members to complete tasks before the deadline

• Speaks in SEGMENT 1 & 2 & 3

• Segment3's content leader

Group member Name 5: Kexin Zhang

• The editor of the audio

• Searches and provides suitable intro music and transition music for the podcast

• Speaks in SEGMENT 2 & 3

We generally categorize our group members into 3 types according to one's role or responsibility that one takes--speaking type, constructing into words type, and technical type. The task for constructing into words type partly overlaps with speaking type because group members in that type would also talks more than technical type.

Before the Zoom Meeting for recording the podcast, there are mainly 2 tasks that I have to do--reviewing every other group member's script in order to have a relatively clear mindset about what they talk about and how can I do transition, and listening to more podcast and puts attention on how the hosts's speak and do transition, which I can follow that speaking pattern during our podcast recording.

We plan to do Zoom Meeting for recording podcast on Tuesday 5:00p.m..
